St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine-William H. Quasha Memorial (SLCM-WHQM) celebrated its 25th year with the first-ever Robert F. Kuan Memorial Lecture and Honorary Lecture Series last October 2 at the college’s Angelo King Auditorium in Quezon City.
The event was held in honor of the late Roberto Fung Kuan, former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of St Luke’s Medical Center and St Luke’s College of Medicine. The two-part lecture series covered areas fitting of the late chairman’s diverse trade. After a tribute video presenting his life and work as a servant-leader in the organizations and institutions he had been involved with, former President & CEO of St. Luke’s Medical Center Dr. Edgardo R. Cortez delivered a memorial lecture on “The Ethics of Medical Practice.” This was followed by the honorary lecture series on “Service Beyond Hospital Walls” by Dr. Maria Adelwisa G. Belen, “The Medical Profession in the Age of Internet & Social Media” by Dr. Alvin Valeriano P. Marcelo, “Bullying in the Healthcare Environment” by Dr. Eric V.
