St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC), in partnership with Trinity University of Asia (TUA), has recently awarded full scholarships to chosen students taking up healthcare-related courses at the university.

The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding took place on November 11, 2019, at SLMC-Quezon City. Present at the event were SLMC President and CEO Dr. Arturo De La Peña and TUA President Dr. Wilfred Tiu.

In line with SLMC’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, the scholarships were bestowed to academically-achieving students from low-income families. “We want to provide help especially to those qualified students having difficulty achieving their dreams because they lack the support,” said Dr. De La Peña. The President also reiterated that the full scholarship covers funding beyond tuition fees.

“These are rare opportunities that not all students get the chance to have,” said Dr. Tiu of TUA. “We hope that everyone treasures this opportunity and, in the end, become successful contributors to society.”

Courses the scholars are enrolled in include radiation technology and respiratory technology. Upon completion of their studies, the students may also be given the chance to train and be employed at SLMC.
